- Geronimo Stilton Adventurer's Boxed Set We love the Geronimo books because they are chapter books that he can read entirely on his own. AND they are so silly, he just loves them. You need to check them out because they are pretty special. The author uses pictures and fancy print throughout the book to add fun and frivolity. I love that the stories are good clean fun and they use wonderful language throughout!
- The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid (Geronimo Stilton, No. 2) Josh's favorite! He is still VERY interested in Ancient Egypt!
- The Case of the Hungry Stranger (I Can Read Book 2) There is a whole series of these by Crosby Bonsall. Super cute little mystery books about a group of boys who solve silly mysteries.
- Kids Across, Parents Down: On the Go: The Puzzles That Kids & Adults Enjoy Together (Kids Across Parents Down) and Kids Across, Parents Down: Crazy Critters: The Puzzles That Kids & Adults Enjoy Together (Kids Across Parents Down) These are so fun. Josh and I do these often. As the name suggests, he does the across clues which are at his level and the down clues are a bit harder intended for adults.
So, what books do your kids just love? Any great suggestion for a boy's boy who can READ but is just 6.

Thanks for these will check them out.
I just posted about this - http://ourworldwideclassroom.blogspot.com/2010/08/books-4-big-kids-captain-underpants.html - full of potty humour though so it may not be your thing.
Thanks Kylie! I read your blog too so I did see your recommendation. How bad are they? I AM kind of picky. I just hate things like the word stupid but silly is okay. I should probably just get one from the library and read it myself!
I am always struggling to find good, age-appropriate books for my 7yo. She is an excellent reader, but not ready for 4th-grade topics! :)
Have you tried Cam Jansen or Jigsaw Jones? They are both mystery chapter book series. Natalie also enjoys the Magic School Bus chapter books from time to time - she really enjoys nonfiction. Also good - Lighthouse Family series by Cynthia Rylant, Daisy Dawson series by Steve Voake.
Hi Amy! We like Cam Jansen but have not checked out the Jigsaw jones or Daisy Dawson yet.
I am assuming you have done the Little House books, but what about My fathers Dragon trilogy? I have also heard good things about the Grandma's Attic series. Oh yeah, also Encyclopedia Brown! Josh might like those too!
