Oh Shannon we're in the middle of a simple machines unit for my 5th grader. I used Simple Machines by Hands on science. I retyped each lesson because the pages are for younger learners (gr. 2-5). They are so tray task friendly. We are also studying Medeival Times in history and I was able to find a simple machines book titled Castle Under Siege by Raintree fusion. It explains how simple machines were used to build the castles etc.
This is a fun unit!
