Montessori for Infants

So...I have been doing a bit of research for my new, young friend. He will be starting with us in a week from Monday. So I need to figure out how to balance his needs with Joshua's schooling.

My trusty friend Google has not let me down! If you are interested in doing a Montessori type atmosphere for your infant...check these out.

First, watch this fascinating video!

Check out these monthly curriculum plans!

And...of course, Michael Olaf!

I am really getting excited about this challenge. I definitely think it will be difficult but it is looking workable.

It seems with infants you mainly are letting them explore...so the key is to create a safe environment.

Now...if only we can get the rooms ready...

It is going to be interesting to see how things change when our baby starts crawling and moving around! I am sure we'll have to adjust our little Montessori Works area, as he'll be into everything. Maybe I'll have to move it all into an area which can be closed off??? Not sure yet - yikes! But these are great tips for his upcoming needs too. I only wish I was familiar with Montessori years ago..

Some of the infant stuff is so far removed from my own style I am not sure if we would have done too much different???? I particularly struggle with the no schedule aspect. But it is all so interesting. I am having a ton of fun planning all this. We will see how it all works!
